IN THE run-up to Sunday's Boat Race Cambridge's crew have been receiving advice from eye specialists to help them win back the title from Oxford. Braintree-based Sports Vision Services has tested 30 members of the Blue and Goldie squads to make sure they have adequate vision on the day of the race. The eye specialists gave crew members advice on sight training exercises to help increase their vision efficiency, information about contact lenses and non-refractive lenses to stop glare. Gavin Rebello, director of Sports Vision Services, said: 'We can help the crew build up their peripheral vision, and help stop glare affecting their performance on the big day. We're an East Anglian-based company and we want to see Cambridge win.' President of the Cambridge University Boat Club Henry Pelly added: 'A few seconds can be the difference between winning and losing. We're doing everything we can to make sure we're in tip top condition, but it's interesting to see how science can help us too.'
